Jariskatsis mama
Father of a Soldier (Georgian: ჯარისკაცის მამა, translit. Jariskatsis mama, Russian: Отец солдата, translit. Otets soldata) is a 1964 Georgian black-and-white drama film
directed by Revaz Chkheidze based on a script by Suliko Jghenti.
During World War II, Georgy Makharashvili, an old peasant wine-grower, leaves his
Georgian village and goes off to the front lines to find his son, a wounded soldier.
But before the father can get to the hospital, the son has been sent back to the
front. The father cannot go back to his village, so he accompanies the
Soviet Army all the way to the final victory over Fascism in Berlin.
