London's become a small town for a handful of jaded psychedelic-era hipsters. But Johnny Alucard has a groovy new way for his pals to get their kicks. A certain ritual will be the living end, he insists. And if you still wonder where Johnny's coming from, try spelling his last name backwards. Dracula is raised into the modern era in this Hammer Studios shocker that's "quite well done" (John Stanley, Creature Features). Christopher Lee dons the cape for the sixth time and seeks out fresh victims. As archnemesis Van Helsing, fellow horror legend Peter Cushing clutches a vial of holy water and edges within throwing distance. Their harrowing battle royale is not to be missed. She outperformed every subject they had ever studied – soon gaining the attention of the U.S. Department of Defense, who subsequently took control of the research facility. The more experiments they conducted on Judith, the clearer it became that her abilities were the manifestation of evil forces within her, prompting the government to take measures to weaponize this force. But they soon discovered there are powers that exist in this world that simply cannot be controlled. Prof. Hildern tells (in flashback form) the tale of how he returned from New Guinea with an abnormally large humanoid skeleton which contained malevolent powers. When exposed to water, the skeleton grows skin and turns into a vicious monster. He deduces from the monster's blood that evil is a sickness that one can get like a cold. By combining good and bad blood, Prof. Hildern's theory is he can make someone immune to evil. He promptly injects it into his daughter Penelope (Lorna Heilbron), hoping she will not become mentally ill like his wife who recently died in a sanitarium. Flash-forward to the present time (3 years later), his theory did not work. Both Emmanuel and Penelope were imprisoned in a mental hospital with Emmanuel missing his left hand middle finger which the monster took to replace the one Emmanuel took from him in his testing.
